Hello Parents!

We hope you are all doing well. The children continue to progress well and demonstrate lots of enthusiasm with their learning.
Thank you for your postive feedback on your child's Communication of Learning. Please be reminded that you are always welcome to have an interview either by phone or face to face.
Please read below for a few updates.

Absences

If you send us a Remind before 8:15 to let us know of your child's absence, we can notify the office and you will not need to call. Otherwise, you can call the office yourself. On the same note, you will need to send a Remind each day your child is absent. We can not assume if your child is not at school the second day that he/she is still sick. We will mark them as absent and the office will call you. We need daily updates. If you know they will be out for more than 1 day you can let us know and will not need to send a text each day.

Lent

This past week we celebrated Shrove Tuesday and had an Ash Wednesday service with Father Titus. The class is working on a few Lenten projects. We have a daily Lenten Goal bag where we choose from a bag a lenten goal for the day (e.g. help someone in need). Each student also worked with their Reading Buddy today to come up with a personal goal (e.g. I will share more with my brother). Please ask your child what his/her goal is for Lent. Next week more information about a third project will be coming home also.

Change of Clothes

Please be reminded that if your child has an accident at school, that you will need to send in a change of clothes the following day. Thank you.

Library

Please also be reminded that we go to library each Thursday and therefore books are due on Wednesdays. This week we had 14 people who were unable to take out a book as their last one was not returned.

School Wide Inquiry "What does it mean to be Canadian?

Our school has been working on a school wide inquiry about what it means to be Canadian. All kinder classes will be embarking on our own inquiry around this. Please stay tuned as this all unfolds into a great cross curricular learning opportunity. The children have already begun along with Mrs. Scott's guidance creating Niagara Falls. We are excited to see where this inquiry takes us!
