Hi Parents!

Please read some updates below...

Homework

We now have introduced all of the required Word Wall Words for the year, therefore our homework will look a little different. For the next two weeks, we would like you to work on coin values and their names with your children. Also, please support their learning of telling time to the hour and half hour. On May 14th, they will get a new homework booklet where they will be asked to write sentences and review the words since September. I would also like to encourage you again to read nightly with your children.

Catholic Education Week

Education week is next week. We will be having an Open House on May 8th at 8:15-8:45. You are invited to come into the class and see some of the work your child has been doing. We will also have a Mass and some other activities at school for the children to participate in. It should be a lot of fun!

Field Trip

The grade one students will be going to the Museum of Science and Technology on May 16th for a field trip. We will need some volunteers to help with this. A note with the details will go home later this week.

Other

Thank you all for your continued support with everything. The children have brought in plenty of materials to build structures, they are very excited to get started on this unit of our Science curriculum.

Please make sure your child has a water bottle to bring to school. With the warmer weather approaching (hopefully...) this will eliminate frequent trips to the water fountain.

Please continue to follow us on Twitter to see some of the learning that is taking place.

Finally, Happy Mother's Day to all you amazing moms out there! I know it's not an easy job, but you are all doing a great, the proof is in the beautiful and living children before me everyday!
