Transition to Grade 1

Tomorrow all the students at St. Jerome will be visiting the next grade up as part of our school wide Stepping Up Day. This will happen during the third block tomorrow. All SK students will get the chance to go to a Grade 1 class and participate in a lesson. This is meant to help support their transition into Grade 1. Our class will be going to Mrs. Mendriski's class. This does not mean that she will be your child's teacher next year. JK students will stay in our class as per usual. Also, on Friday Mrs. Hutt's Grade 1 students will be coming to our class to read Fairy Tales and will also be our Grade 1 experts. Sk students will have the opportunity to ask questions about their transition. Finally, next week SK students will be taken out during regular school recess time to see what it looks like to be outside with the big kids. We hope the SK's will enjoy all theses experiences and give them a little taste of what is to come.

End of Year Celebration

Thursday parents are invited to come to the class at 10:30. We will present a song, certificates and a slideshow. After this, we will be heading over to the park for a picnic lunch. There is a small sprinkler there too and children will be welcome to use it. As such, please send in a bathing suit, a towel on Thursday. Parents are welcome to join us at the park or are free to leave after the classroom portion of the celebration, whatever works best for you. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
