Hi Parents,

Please read below for some updates for March. Also, please check the Calendar tab as well as the Curriculum Goals tab.

Field Trip

We will be going on our first field trip on March 28th, Please make sure you fill out all the required forms and return them to school as soon as possible. We are looking for volunteers for this activity. We hope many of you can make it.

Scientists in the School

On April 4, we will have the Scientists in the School coming to work with the grade one classes on Structures and Mechanisms. We will need 5 parents from the class to volunteer to help out with this. It will be either all morning or all afternoon. Please let me know if you can make this.

Library

The children are asked to keep their library books in their ziplock bags to keep them protected. Some have been returned in poor shape. Please remind your child about the importance in taking care of our school materials.

Homework and Reading

Please continue the great work you are doing in supporting your child with their weekly homework and nightly reading. Please also make sure to review reading word wall words since September. If you are in need of leveled readers to read with your child at home, let me know, I can send some with him or her. Having just right texts at an instructional level are important for the children to move ahead with their reading.

Report Cards and Interviews

Please make sure you have signed and returned the parent portion of the report card. along with the envelope as we reuse it next term.  Also, remember anytime is a good time for a call or face to face interview. Should you ever have any questions I am always available. It is my pleasure to discuss next steps for your child.

March Break

I would like to wish you all a safe and fun March Break. The children have been working very hard and deserve a good rest. Enjoy your time with your lovely children!
