Hi Parents,

Please see below for some updates.

1. Volunteers

If you think you will be able to volunteer in any capacity this year, you will need a police record check. Please see the link below for more information. Please consider doing this sooner than later so that you don't have to scramble last minute. In order to get the fee waived, please get a letter from the office. If you need the letter please write a note in your child's agenda and I will send one to you.

2. Curriculum Night

I hope to see you all at the school Tuesday evening at 6:45. There will be a short presentation in the gym followed by 2 presentations in classrooms. Please be reminded that the purpose of this is to go over general information about the class and curriculum. For specific information about your child's progress, you are welcome to make a phone call or to set up an interview.

3. Homework

Homework will go home on Tuesdays and will be due back on Fridays. You will be asked to do one Reading Log entry per day, and the word work you will find in their homework book. Our school also has access to an online reading program Razkids and a Math program Zorbit. You are encouraged to use these two resources to support your child's literacy and numeracy development. More information on these 2 programs will come later this week.

4. Book Orders

Almost each month you will receive book orders from Scholastic. There are great deals to be had. You can order online or submit cash for me to place the order.

5.Glasses

I have noticed that many students wear glasses, some of them take their glasses off during the day, If you are confident that your child is managing their glasses as needed no problem. However, if your child needs their glasses on all the time, please let me know so I can remind them.

6. Allergies

Please be reminded we are a nut free school.


7. Extra Support

We have a high school student volunteering in our class. She is from St. FX. She will be with us most afternoons. If your children are talking about Miss. Emma (which I am sure they will, she's great!) that's who they are referring to.
